Gorham Estate Kitchen
This kitchen, designed by Jeff Peavey and built by the Kennebec Company, was a relatively small part of a whole-house renovation project. The 10' long space defining island contains a soapstone farmers sink, 4 burner gas cooktop with downdraft exhaust, and an end seating area for entertaining. A pastry counter and coffee bar line the edge of the open stair, framed by barn timber newel posts, stainless cables, and exposed brick. The striking red walled pantry provides ample storage space for canned goods. The heart of the kitchen, the blue Aga cooker, provides warmth throughout the year and harkens back to the family's time abroad in England.

Kennebec River Kitchen
The original kitchen in this 1970's custom home was functional but cramped for space and detached from the adjacent dining room. The client's desire was for a more open space for entertaining with friends and family.
Removing the dividing wall and painting the dark wood ceilings white created a much more open and spacious feel with direct flow into the formal dining area. The central island with gas cooktop and seating area are perfect for casual entertaining. The custom cabinets by Fiddlehead Designs fit seamlessly into the style of the original home. |
