Penneville Road
Farm House Addition The main house on this lovely estate on Penneville Road was built in the 18th century and extensively renovated by Morse & Doak in the early 2000's. The connected addition was added in the 1960's to replace what was once a beautiful barn that had gone into disrepair. It was the desire of the client from the start to have it rebuilt at some point with a more period-fitting ell in which to house a new kitchen, living spaces, and bedroom suite.
When the time came M&D was called back to take on the project, along with architect Anne Whitney for the design, and Jeff Peavey for the custom kitchen from the Kennebec Company. Various reclaimed materials were used to provide an authentic feel to this period addition, including old wide pine floor boards and beams hollowed out to surround new structural beams. |
